Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog. I hope you took in some important information reading my last blog post, where I was talking about Becoming the Person You Needed When You Were Younger. If you haven't checked it out, please be sure to do so. It's been about 2 weeks since my last blog, so for this blog post, I wanted to go deep and personal.
I've had an assignment for a class this semester where I had to reflect on what's currently going on in my life, and I felt lost. There were moments where everything felt blurry or I was unsure if I was trying my best; I may still question if I was even on the best path. So that made me want to talk about how to find a direction when you feel lost.
When you're feeling lost, it most often happens during a major change in your life, for example, when may be moving into a new house, or you're having your first child, also starting a new job or school.
We start asking ourselves:
Was this the right decision?
Is this what I want?
Am I prepared for this?
We try to figure things out, we tend to forget and reflect on who we are right now. But the hard truth is, we're all changing, and change is uncomfortable. We're outgrowing old habits and old versions of ourselves and going into a new chapter in our lives, and we feel lost at first, but with time, it feels clear again.
Here are some ways to find your direction again
Allow yourself to change it, okay to outgrow things, even the version of yourself that you once knew. Growth isn't supposed to be neat and nice; it's messy, confusing and very slow.
Take and process step by step. You don't know where life is going to take you yet, so focus on what you can achieve right now.
Give yourself time, not what's new is not failure, you don't need to rush and don't compare your journey and story to anyone else. You are allowed to move at your own pace.
If you're feeling lost right now, I want you to remember that you're just leaving who you are is ok, even if the path is unclear or the direction is not visible, you will find the right direction.
Take a break.
Trust your timing.
