Growing up, have you often found yourself comparing your growth to others. I feel as if we, as humans, tend to do it a lot. For example, you may see someone in your age range already landing their dream job, achieving massive success from online fame, or even graduating early, which can evoke a sense of jealousy in us as humans. we sometimes find ourselves thinking What am I doing wrong? Or am I doing the right things in life? and always feel like your a step behind everyone else.

But let me tell you something, if you've been experiencing this, you're not alone. I've been in your shoes before with all these feelings of jealousy and comparison. An important skill I learned is being mindful. If we can start practicing this skill, I feel we can start silencing this feeling of jealousy and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).

Now you may ask how can I practice mindfulness? Well, it starts by pausing, taking a breath, and catching ourselves when we start to overthink. Going out for a walk, staring at the stars, putting away the phones and the media we consume, and start to meditate. There are so many ways to practice mindfulness. But the hard truth is, we shouldn't care about keeping up with others. Everyone has their own path, as long as we are moving towards our own goal, it is all that matters.
